We have had two new members join the Duxton Dental team in the last team 6 months and we thought it is about time we introduced them.
First of all we have Carol Engler:
I have been at Duxton Dental for six months now and really enjoy the warm, friendly working enviorment.
I assist the hygienists and manage the sterilisation area. I also do the lab work, making mouthguards, pouring up study models and I have a keen interest in and enjoy making the Emax crowns that we make here on site.
I have been a Dental Assistant for 28 years. 19 of these in my homeland of South Africa, I moved to New Zealand with my husband and two children four and a half years ago. Our daughter keeps me very busy with her sports and our son is at university studying electrical engineering.
When time allows I enjoy spending it with my family. I also love painting, gardening, cooking and being creative.
I am thrilled to join Grahame, Christine and Hayley at Duxton Dental as a dentist at this fabulous practice. I love the individual and comprehensive care every patient receives here. The staff are a real team and all motivated to do the best for each patient we see.
I am impressed by the practice ethos of keeping up to date with the latest and scientifically proven technologies, materials and techniques and am committed to ongoing education to offer patients their best treatment options.
I graduated from the University of Otago and worked at Hutt and Wellington hospitals for 2 years. I then went to the UK until 2002, where I thoroughly enjoyed my time in London and Cornwall, where I was lucky enough to balance working at dental practices and travelling through Europe. I have since been in Christchurch and have worked both in private practice and at Christchurch Hospital Oral Health Centre. I have a special interest in Oral Medicine and TMJ issues.
Bachelor of Dental Surgery, University of Otago 1996.
Post Graduate Diploma in Oral Medicine, University of Otago, starting 2010/
I am married to Andrew a radiologist, and have three children-Kara, Alexia and Jessica who keep me pretty busy. I love to get out on my bike, either road biking or hitting the trails on the mountain bike. Winter is a favourite season in our family as we are keen skiers. I really enjoy cooking and am always willing to try out new recipes on friends and family
