It is commonly thought that you are best to wait until all your child’s baby teeth have fallen out before beginning orthodontic treatment. But in some cases, starting treatment as early as 8-9 years old is very beneficial. We also know that orthodontic treatment can be expensive. Sometimes these teeth can be a valuable asset to the mouth when healthy and properly aligned, but more often than not, they are misaligned and require removal. All wisdom teeth need to be individually assessed to work out how straightforward or complex it will be to remove them. This is dependant on what angle they are at and whether they are impacted if they are partially or fully erupted.
